Crowds gathered in their thousands to watch a thrilling days racing at Oulton Park, and Freightlink Motorsport were in attendance to enjoy every moment thanks to Xentek Motorsport.

The sun was shining as a stacked racecard included the likes of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and the Porsche Carrera Cup. The BTCC kicked the day off as fans watched Andrew Jordan of BMW Pirtek Racing take the chequered flag, fending off a Matt Neal fightback to the delight of many in what was a very closely contested affair.

Between races, Freightlink Motorsport took the opportunity to walk through the paddock and were fortunate enough to meet Nicolas Hamilton, brother of Formula 1 champion Lewis, who returned to racing this weekend in the Renault UK Clio Cup following a two year break. Hamilton is an inspiration to many (being affected with Cerebral Palsy) and it was a pleasure to see Nicolas return to action and be back behind the wheel.

The Renault UK Clio Cup got off to a frantic start with a multiple car collision on the first corner which prompted the red flag to be waved as marshalls attended to the cars and rebuilt the tyre wall. The cars lined up once more and unfortunately after just two racing laps the race was red-flagged when Team Pyro's Jack McCarthy crashed heavily at the high-speed Druids corner. It seemed then as though Mike Bushell had taken the victory however he was deemed to have unfairly pushed PP Motorsport with James Colburn out of the way to grab first position during the race.

Closing the day was the one we at Freightlink Motorsport were waiting for, the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and a chance to see Xentek Motorsport's four cars in action and they certainly didn't disappoint. Callum Pointon made a blistering start, after starting third on the grid, he took second position with ease and was on the tail of Tom Hibbert for the remainder of the race. Hibbert enjoyed a clean sweep of wins at Oulton Park after a dominant performance in qualifying saw him maintain his momentum throughout both of the races in Cheshire. It was a great weekend too for Xentek Motorsport's Jac Constable who recorded a win in the AM class.

After a full days racing, transporters were loaded with their cars as the teams began preparation for the next event at Croft on the 10th and 11th June.

Adam Redford, European Sales Manager for Freightlink said:

"Being at Oulton Park reinforces why we want to support the industry. As a ferry provider we are ideally placed to help make travel arrangement easier for teams so the full focus can be on the races"

All of us at Freightlink would like to sincerely thank Xentek Motorsport for their invite and hospitality on a day that was enjoyed by all and we look forward to attending many more in the coming months.
