If you are a GB importer and haven't registered for CDS, you won't be able to import from September.

The UK's current customs platform, CHIEF, will be phased out over the next 7 months. In it's place, the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) will be used to make import and export declarations.

At Reload, our team of experts have been using CDS for nearly 2 years for Northern Ireland imports.

We are prepared to help you through this transitionary period.

The replacement of CHIEF by CDS will happen in 2 stages:

1. From the 30th of September 2022, businesses will not be able to make import declarations through CHIEF.
2. From the 31st of March 2023, it will be impossible to make export declarations through CHIEF.

To protect your business and make sure that you can still import from September, you need to register for CDS.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Sign into your Government Gateway account and register for CDS
2. Give your customs broker access to use your Cash or Deferment accounts to pay VAT/Duties.
3. Act now

Without preparing for CDS, you won't be able to import into the UK from September.

Protect your business and register for CDS through your Government Gateway account.
